Desktop Noisemaker: Office HVAC

Ambient fluorescent hum. On loop.

A small desktop speaker that plays a single looped audio file: 47 minutes of authentic office HVAC ambience, recorded in a mid-sized commercial building in 2019. The recording includes the low hum of the system, the occasional tick of ductwork, and one brief moment at 22 minutes where something clicks and then does not click again.

Circling back on the open-office noise policy: this device produces brown noise at a level compliant with OSHA occupational noise guidelines. It is not therapeutic. It is accurate.

Going forward, the device ships with a USB-C charging cable and no power adapter, per our current environmental commitments and ongoing adapter standardization effort.
